Although we couldn’t see Jeff in public, he was extremely involved with his wife’s campaign for governor of Arizona. Throughout the campaign, he was frequently seen by Kari’s side with a camera.
Many media sites soon started discussing Jeff’s appearance. According to the New York Times,
“Another constant presence on the campaign trail is Ms. Lake’s husband, Jeff Halperin, a videographer who watches his wife’s every move through the frame of his digital camera, compiling footage for political ads and recording interviews with reporters.” Her campaign has broadcast such recordings on occasion to demonstrate her conflicts with the media, which she has increasingly characterized as antagonistic to her candidacy.”
According to campaign finance documents, Halperin did not receive any compensation for his work. Surprisingly, their daughter Ruby received four $1,500 checks from the campaign.
According to sources, she was paid as a “consultant” in her capacity as a live coordinator for the nonprofit Turning Point USA.
