Mohr appeared on NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ for two seasons from 1993 to 1995. Following that, he established a career on both the big and small screens.
Mohr earned his breakthrough as the back-stabbing sports agent Bob Sugar in ‘Jerry Maguire and Jennifer Aniston’s pretend fiancé in the romantic comedy ‘Picture Perfect’ in 1997. He then appeared in the films ‘Outlaw’ and ‘Hereafter’.
‘Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live,’ his debut book, was published in 2004. Hyperion published it, and it detailed his two years on Saturday Night Live. Mohr’s second book, ‘No Wonder My Parents Drank: Tales from a Stand-Up Dad,’ was published by Simon & Schuster in 2010.
Between 2008 and 2010, he had a successful role as a divorced father in ‘Gary Unmarried,’ among other comedy. With the series ‘Action,’ he also made his feature producing debut. He has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Grammy Award over his career.
He hosted Jay Mohr Sports, a weekday midday sports radio talk show on Fox Sports Radio, in 2013. Also he is the father of two children, one with former model Nicole Chamberlain and the other with actress Nikki Cox.
