After graduation, he began working as a mortgage banker for a worldwide corporation, Quicken Loans Inc. In 1996, he changed jobs and joined Rock Financial with Dan Gilbert. His fate altered in 1997 when he embarked on a new adventure that led him to realize his desire. In this year, he was appointed director of mortgage banking, and in May 1998, with the rise of the Internet, he was appointed vice president of web mortgage banking.
