Chris Choi’s reputation as a consumer editor drives searches on his Wikipedia page. He doesn’t have a Wikipedia page. From Leeds, he attended Roundhay High School and studied law at Nottingham University.
In 1990, he became interested in TV consumer journalism after training at the BBC in the late 1980s. Choi oversaw BBC1’s prime-time “That’s Life” investigative reporting. Including high-profile efforts on child abuse, bullying, and product safety.
He also made his national broadcast debut as an undercover journalist reporting on the world’s greatest white-collar crime, Nigerian advance fee fraud.
Chris produced and directed BBC1’s “Watchdog” consumer show in 1993. After three years, Choi hosted Radio 4’s consumer show You and Yours, the first to uncover the full BSE risk. In 1997, Chris launched BBC1’s consumer programme The Really Useful Show. This was the channel’s first live, hour-long consumer show.
He was a BBC1 Healthcheck investigative reporter and Summer Holiday consumer reporter the same year.
