Nikita Nesterenko amassed 30 goals and 20 assists last season en route to an undefeated regular season. He will play for the Chilliwack Chiefs of the British Columbia Hockey League in 2019–20 before transferring to Brown University in 2020–21.
Nesterenko prides himself on being an attacking skater with strong hands and vision. He thinks his playing closely resembles that of Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov and that making moves quickly is one of his strengths.
When he was chosen out of the prep school Lawrenceville School in New Jersey, it was thought that he was a very gifted forward who urgently needed to bulk up and fill out his physique.
The 22 year-old player has reasoned that his strength, which he can develop by working out both on and off the ice, mastering corner fights, and just being a larger, stronger player, is the one area he has to focus on for him to advance in the game.
And no one should be surprised by Nesterenko’s passion and drive to develop his career and, ideally, don the Wild insignia one day.
