Tatyana Ali is one of the most recognizable faces from the sitcom era of the 1990s. And she’s now adding to the holiday magic with Lifetime Movies’ Jingle Belle and Hallmark Movies’ Christmas Everlasting. She’ll also be singing in her films! What more could we want?
She needed to clarify her relationship with Muhammad Ali. Many people have speculated for a long time that Tatyana is related to the famous boxer. Some even speculate that she is one of Ali’s many hidden children.
Unfortunately for those who believe Tatyana is a second-generation celebrity, there is no connection between the actress and the boxer other than their last name.
There’s also the distant link that Tatyana’s Fresh Prince co-star, Will Smith, portrayed Ali in Ali’s 2001 biopic. Some people believed Smith got the part through Tatyana.
Ali, an African-American activist as well as a boxing legend, died on June 3, 2016, at the age of 74. He is the father of seven daughters and two sons. He is said to have fathered additional secret children, including Kiiursti Mensah-Ali.
Tatyana, on the other hand, is not Muhammad Ali’s secret daughter. There is also no known link through Ali’s numerous siblings or extended family.
Born in New York Tatyana are Sheriff and Sonia Ali’s daughter. Tatyana and her two younger sisters are of Latin-American descent from their parents, which is a little-known fact. Her mother is from Panama, and her father is from Trinidad and Tobago with Indo-Trinidadian ancestors.
When Muhammad Ali died two years ago, the alleged relationship between Tatyana and him became a hot topic. Many people did their research and were surprised to learn that they aren’t even related, let alone father and daughter.
A few people who knew Tatyana when she was a Sesame Street child actor confirm that she is not related to Ali. Nonetheless, many people can laugh at their folly in thinking Tatyana Ali is Muhammad Ali’s daughter.
