Vrydaghs, from New York, had no clue what she was getting into when she moved to southwest Ohio to work. She fell in love with Dayton after landing in Ohio. SUNY Oswego awarded Vrydaghs a Bachelor of Meteorology in 2005. She then became a meteorologist for CNN Headline News Radio in Newburgh.
She became a Verizon FiOS1 News weekend meteorologist in 2011. New Jersey and Long Island broadcast her predictions. She forecast Yankees games on the YES Network. Vrydaghs joined Storm Center 7 in September 2012 and became Chief Meteorologist in November 2018. She has covered all types of weather, including hurricanes, snowstorms, and tornadoes.
The 2019 Memorial Day Tornado Outbreak was Vrydaghs’ favorite moment. She tracked 15 Miami Valley tornadoes, including three EF3s and one EF4. Vrydaghs realized the actual value of her job—protecting the public—from this experience.
