To Eritrean parents, Rubi Rose was born in Lexington, Kentucky. She spent some time with her mother’s relatives in Geneva, Switzerland, before moving back to the US. Rose’s family relocated to Atlanta during her junior year of high school from Lexington. Rubi experienced a culture shock because she wasn’t accustomed to Atlanta’s metropolitan way of life.
Rose saw a chance to succeed in the entertainment business in Atlanta. Ruby was brought up by a strict mother who at first disapproved of her choice to become a musician. She eventually understood Ruby’s love and dedication to music, though. Ruby expressed her gratitude for her tough upbringing to Flaunt. She uttered:
Just strict,” she said. adoring, but not at all fond of Africans. As you are aware, they are. But it’s excellent because it made us into wonderful, strong ladies. I’m self-reliant. I value my mother because she taught me a lot of things about being a woman.
Another significant figure in Rubi’s life is her father. On Father’s Day of 2018, she sent him a series of Instagram pictures with the message:
“… you have introduced me to so many games in life. The absolute smartest, most captivating, most engaging, and most lively person I have ever met, STILL… I aspire to be half the person and lawyer that you are, papa.
