In 1988, Wesley and his first wife had their first child. Jelani Asar, Wesley’s only child from his marriage to April, is 34 years old. While he has mostly avoided the spotlight, he did play a baby in one of his father’s films. He played Miles, a one-year-old, in a scene for Spike Lee’s 1990 film Mo’ Better Blues.
Wesley and April divorced in 1990, and his child has been mostly kept private since then. His performance in Mo’ Better Blues appears to be his sole film appearance. Jelani is now the Chief Marketing Officer for a meta-marketing firm, according to LinkedIn.
