Tony Richardson and Claressa Shields first met in the gym. The facility where she exercised belonged to him.
Shields received fitness assistance from Richardson, but at first, she didn’t give him much thought because she was so preoccupied with her workout.
But as they hung out more outside of the gym, they got along better and started to become friends.
They eventually transitioned from friends to lovers, and on July 24, 2020, they were legally married. Three years into their relationship, Shields and Richardson are now engaged.
Shields still works out with Richardson, but she tries to maintain some separation between her personal and professional lives.
Shields is still committed to advancing her boxing career despite their early 2024 wedding date.
Boxer Claressa Shields is exceptionally skilled and has excelled in her field to unheard-of levels. Shields has won two gold medals in the Olympics and dabbled in mixed martial arts.
She had a great amateur career, going 78 matches without losing, and she won gold at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.
In 2016, she started her professional career. She swiftly gained notoriety, won championships, and established herself as the unquestioned champion across several weight classes.
Shields won plaudits for her boxing, and in 2021, after joining the Professional Fighters League, she made her mixed martial arts debut.
She concentrates on shattering barriers and motivating others while continuing to pursue boxing and MMA.
