Kate Buffery’s ex-husband, Roger Michell, died on 22 September 2021. The reason for his death was not disclosed.
Born on 5 June 1956, Roger was the son of a British diplomat. He was born in South Africa but was not African, as was sometimes mistakenly assumed.
The filmmaker spent parts of his childhood in Beirut due to his dad’s job. The late celebrity attended Clifton College in Bristol, where he started his career as a filmmaker. While studying at Queens College, Cambridge, Michell directed and acted in several plays.

He even won the RSC Buzz Goodbody Award for being the best student director at the NSDF. During his career, the 1997 graduate succeeded as a director/writer.
Nothing Hill, Venus, Enduring Love, My Cousin Rachel, etc., are Michel Roger’s popular movies. According to IMDb, Michell was set to direct the 2001 movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. However, he had to back off due to a heart attack.
