While enrolled at the University of Illinois, Anderson met O’Neal. She competed on the women’s golf team for the Illini throughout her time in college. Speaking of her husband’s sporting career, she remarked, “I first became interested in tennis after meeting my future husband, Kevin Anderson, at a university.
I had a shared knowledge of Kevin’s commitment to sports because I played collegiate golf, but I soon realized that tennis was more than just a “game” to Kevin; it was a way of life.
Before getting married in 2011, the pair dated for a while before choosing Wilmette, Illinois. Speaking of their wedding, Anderson reflected, “It was really an incredible weekend, especially having friends and family come from all over the world to be a part of our big occasion.
Illinois has become my home since leaving South Africa; it was where Kelsey and I met. My life’s most memorable day was that one. Miami and St. Lucia were the destinations for the couple’s honeymoon. They even purchased a house in Florida’s Delray Beach.
