Halle Bailey’s journey began when she and her older sister, Chloe, started performing on YouTube when Halle was just eight years old.
They formed a duo called Chloe x Halle and gained a dedicated following. Their big break came when they caught the attention of none other than Beyonce with their cover of her song Pretty Hurts.
Beyonce signed them to her Parkwood Entertainment management company and featured them in her visual album, Lemonade. They even joined her Formation World Tour and the On the Run II Tour with Jay-Z.
In 2018, Chloe x Halle released their first studio album, The Kids Are Alright, which received critical acclaim and earned them Grammy nominations for Best New Artist.
Halle had made some earlier appearances in TV shows and movies, including House of Payne, Last Holiday, Let It Shine, and Joyful Noise.
But her career took to the next level when she and her sister were cast in the spin-off sitcom Grown-ish, where they also performed the show’s theme song.
Halle’s career reached new heights when she played the iconic role of Ariel in the live-action remake of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
