Lance Hindt, the superintendent of Katy ISD, apologized to KISD personnel on April 2.
According to Communityimpact, more than two weeks after Greg Gay, a businessman of Hindt, accused him of severe bullying at a board meeting on March 19.
Videos of Barrett’s remarks to the board quickly became popular, with one video receiving more than 1 million views, and news organizations like the Washington Post covered the incident.
Hindt responded in a statement on March 20 that Barrett’s charges “simply were not accurate” and that he did not recall him from his childhood.
Lance does not suggest that Mr. Barrett was not bullied, only that he was not part of it. Bullying must stop. It was back then, and it is still today, according to Hindt.
The superintendent of Katy ISD, Hindt continued, “he is glad to lead a district that doesn’t back down from dealing with bullying, whether offline or online.”
