According to Rozapepper, a popular Davido fan on Twitter, the DMW star did not change his sound to please the foreign market.
In her words:
"He didn't need to change his sound to please the westerners before getting the nods. Some were submitting their songs as R&B and albums as a worldwide genre on digital streaming platforms to get these kinds of nominations. Davido stayed true to his culture - Afrobeat to get these recognitions. This win is not for davido only but for Afrobeat and the lover of Afrobeat worldwide."
