The Braddock Bench Project was initiated by her. Bus terminals will get benches. She co-founded 412 Food Rescue in 2015 to help individuals in need with food insecurity.
The “Follow Your Dreams” and “More Hugs Required” signs are installed by the community organization she founded, the Positive Parking Signs Effort.
The Hollander Project, a business incubator for female entrepreneurs, was also started by Gisele. She supports immigration reform in the US. Gisele Barreto Fetterman has urged Congress to handle immigration “humanely and sympathetically” and to prevent separating families. She denounced the president’s intentions to terminate the DACA initiative.
She was named “Best Activist” by Pittsburgh City Paper for her involvement in the community and advocacy of marijuana legalization. Pittsburgh celebrated International Refugee Day on June 20, 2018. She and her husband opened their Fort Indiantown Gap pool to kids in 2019.
In 2019, they permitted kids to use the pool at the Lieutenant Governor’s Residence in Fort Indiantown Gap. On September 28, she served as the 2019 Hispanic Heritage Gala’s honorary chairman.
On October 29, 2019, she was given the Pursuer of Peace Award by the Rodef Shalom Congregation. In February 2020, Amazon promoted the sticker as an “Anti Immigration Vinyl Vehicle Bumper Window Sticker” with the phrase “Fuck Off, We’re Filled.”
The sticker had been removed, according to Amazon’s February 3, 2020 answer. On March 6, 2020, she delivered a speech at the Westmoreland Club’s “YOUR HOUR, HER POWER” luncheon.
