On August 4, 2005, Patrice Comey and James, who stands 6 feet 8 inches tall, welcomed their first child, Collin Edward Comey, into their lives. Their son weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces when he was born. Collin, the couple’s kid, was diagnosed with Group B streptococcal illness when he was 16 months old. Despite the fact that the bacterial illness could have been treated, he died. Patrice wrote a lengthy op-ed column about Collin’s cause of death after his death. “She pushed for prenatal testing for the bacterium,” she said.
Patrice writes in her column that her baby died one month ago today, at the age of nine days. She revealed that her son died of a treatable ailment. She’s sharing her ordeal in the hopes of saving other expectant women. Patrice and her husband, James, are now proud parents of Abby, Claire, Brien, Kate, and Maurene Comey, five foster children. Maurene, one of their foster daughters, is a Harvard Law School graduate from the class of 2013. She now works for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York as an assistant attorney.
