Femke Bol, a notable figure in the world of sports, was born on February 23, 2000, in the Dutch city of Amersfoort, where her inspirational journey began. During her early years, Bol spent a year studying judo, a decision prompted by her experience of breaking her arm twice. She took up judo on medical advice to improve her ability to fall safely and confidently.
Her athletic journey took a crucial turn in 2008 when she started training at the local club AV Triathlon. Her elder brother’s involvement in the club attracted her interest, encouraging her to develop a strong interest in sports.
“It was always a way to clear your mind and just have fun and not think too much about other things,” Bol reflected on her early experiences. That’s what I like about it.”
In 2014, she went to AV Altis, another local club, where coach Werner Andrea found her incredible aptitude for longer sprints. Bol resumed her education at Farel College after graduating from high school. As of 2021, she was enrolled in communication sciences at Wageningen University, exhibiting her commitment not just to her athletic career but also to her personal development and education.
