Following the crash, Andrew Bellatti was arrested, and he was charged with vehicular manslaughter. He also pleaded guilty to gross vehicular manslaughter in a crash that killed a popular Steele Canyon High School volunteer.
In addition to that, Bellatti was also slapped with charges related to gross negligence and two counts of reckless driving, causing serious injuries.
After that, he was sentenced to eight months in prison and five years probation as the driver. At the time of the accident, he was 19 years old.
Moreover, Bellatti served three months in California and had written a letter to the widow of the accident victim. The widow, Lyn Reid, had asked the judge to release him early.
