After the NXIVM investigation started to get intense in 2018, Keith and his associates fled to Mexico City and India, Oxenberg moved back to her mother. Her mother was persistently helping her daughter out of the NXIVM. Also, she did everything she could to cure India of her nightmarish experience. Catherine later chronicled these efforts in her 2018 book, Captive.

Also, LinkedIn is a self-employed hospitality manager at a restaurant in Venice Beach, Malibu, California. It happens that the owner and chef of the place is her fiancé.
