His dedication to justice was evident during his tenure at Illinois State University. He served as an intern at the investigations unit of the Will County Public Defender’s Office in Joliet, Illinois.
For five months, from January 2016 to May 2016, Deven passionately contributed to the legal landscape.
His responsibilities included delving into case investigations for pretrial motions and handling pro se appointed cases.
He engaged in post-conviction proceedings, conducting witness interviews and formulating trial strategies.
