Well, Desiree was allegedly raped by boxer Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson happened to be one of the pageant’s visitors while she was a college student in Indianapolis competing in her beauty contest. At the event, Washington and Tyson met.
A day later, the pageant winner said that the boxer had raped her when she checked into the Methodist Hospital’s emergency room. Mike and his team also offered Desiree $1 million to take back the case, according to Desiree.
According to multiple sources, Iron Mike called her into his room at the Canterbury hotel in Indianapolis and forced himself on her.
Tyson was detained in a hotel room in Indianapolis in July 1991. From January 26 to February 10, 1992, the rape trial was held in Marion County Superior Court.
After the incident, Tyson’s then-chauffeur corroborated Desiree’s state of shock. Washington’s physical condition was consistent with rape, according to an emergency department physician who examined him more than 24 hours after the incident.
