In August of 2020, the fashion enthusiast/Instagram influencer was heavily criticized for her social media post and its meaning. She posted two pictures of herself, confirming that they were shot using different light settings and, through the caption, attempted to explain how the change of lights hid her cellulite.

In the pictures, she can be seen wearing shorts exposing her thighs. As per Bernstein, in the first picture, the "sun is behind me, so I'm backlit and it's more flattering." And the second image is "direct sunlight which shows my cellulite."
"Both are beautiful, but a quick 180 can dramatically change the look," she continued. Toward the end, Bernstein has used a hashtag #uneditedbutfiltered, stressing how no editing tool was used to enhance her look, something she had been criticized a lot for.
In the comment section, the disbelief of her followers can be noticed as one user wrote, "me looking for a difference in these photos." One of the Instagram users called out Bernstein and said, "Your body looks identical in both pics. I appreciate what you are trying to show, but this ain't it honey." While another person wrote, "But... You look the same. And with zero cellulite in either? (Which is also totally normal and okay to have btw)."
