Dr. Sadiqa Kendi, the spouse of Ibram X Kendi, is an exceptional person in her own right. She is a highly skilled pediatric emergency medicine specialist who has done much both within and outside of her area. In a stunning Jamaican ceremony in 2013, Dr. Sadiqa Kendi wed Ibram X. Kendi. Their marriage marked both a significant cross-cultural exchange and a celebration of their love.
At the end of the ceremony, they were given their new last name, “Kendi,” which has special meaning because it is the language of the Meru people of Kenya. This action demonstrates their dedication to maintaining their marriage’s harmony and love. Dr. Sadiqa Kendi teaches pediatric emergency medicine as an associate professor at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Her area of expertise is pediatric injury prevention, with a focus on health equality promotion.
