Despite having written since his college days, Brandon Sanderson’s debut book, “Elantris,” didn’t become a hit until 2005. The previously mentioned book was a huge bestseller and is set in the fantasy genre.
For the book, he was honored with the Best Epic Fantasy Novel Award as well as the Reviewers’ Choice Best Book Award. In 2006, he released the fantasy book “Mistborn:
The Final Empire,” which became the first in the Mistborn trilogy and was a big financial hit.
The last two books in the trilogy, “Mistborn: The Well of Ascension” and “Mistborn: The Hero of Ages,” came out in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
Although all of these works received high praise from critics and saw Brandon nominated multiple times, it was the latter that won him the Best Epic Fantasy Novel Award as well as the Reviewers’ Choice Best Book Award.
He also released the children’s book “Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians” in 2007, which served as the basis for a string of subsequent Alcatraz books.
