Brandy Cole was in a romantic relationship with Justin Tatum. The couple were so much in love and loved each other much. The couple was shocked when they found out Brandy was pregnant.
But unlike other men who get scared and leave their girlfriends. Justin Tatum didnt do so. He was there for her and took great care of her. The couple didnt have sound finances as they were just a couple of teenagers and were just at the beginning of their career.
They didn’t have stable jobs to feed three people and pay household bills. So Brandy had to turn down the athletic scholarship at Tennessee and get herself enrolled in a local college to get support from her community.
She was brilliant in her study, so she got a scholarship to the local college. Her husband Justin was at a peak in his career and went to the Netherlands to play basketball. He missed most of his son’s childhood days.
Brandy was left with all the responsibility. She had to take care of her baby while working two jobs to pay for bills and food. Jayson grew up in extreme poverty. He also stated,
“My mom broke down in tears as soon as she saw it. Whether it was the heat being cut off, or the water, it always seemed like one problem after another. And she was hurting. She went to her room. I could hear her crying through her bedroom door.”
He added that even though he was a baby, he remembers going to his room sad and angry because he couldn’t help his mother. Jayson stated,
“Of course, I was just a kid, only eight or nine years old, so I did not really understand the whole situation, but I knew enough to know what that pink paper meant.“
Brandy then divorced her husband and then married Jake Barnes in 2016. The couple has two children together. They are Jaycob and Kayden. Her firstborn son Jason shared the news of Brandy getting married and expressed his gratitude to Jake for making his mother happy.
