Brandon began his college career as a quarterback, but he later decided to work as a team coach. In 2006, he worked as a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois.

Later that year, he worked with defensive linemen and special teams at Division III St. Thomas. He was hired as an associate head coach at Hutchinson Community College the following year.

He spent the 2012 season with Tennessee as a graduate assistant. Later, in 2013, 2015, and 2016, he was seen as the defensive coordinator and secondary coach at John Carroll University.

He was hired as the Chicago Bears’ outside linebacker coach the following year. He was hired as the Denver Broncos outside linebacker coach in 2019 after working with an NFL team.

On January 16, 2020, he was hired as the Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator. He was named head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers the following year.

He made his head coaching debut six months later against Washington, ensuring the chargers’ 20-16 victory. Following a setback in week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, the bar for performance was set high.

He is unlikely to be fired, but he may be replaced if things do not improve. Colin Cowherd talked about fundamental issues and chastised the Chargers for their lack of identity.

He is doing everything possible to help the team develop and keep the players motivated. He will quickly disprove his detractors and lead the team to victory.
