He works as a general partner at a Silicon Valley venture capital firm in San Francisco, California, called Benchmark since 1999. Bill led the firm’s Series A investment in Uber (IPO 2019), and now sits on the boards of Instawork, Good Eggs, HackerOne, Nextdoor, Solv, Stitch Health, and Stitch Fix, among others. Recent exits comprise Vessel (acquired by Verizon), DogVacay (recently combined with Rover), Brighter (acquired by Cigna), and Stitch Fix’s IPO. Prior to entering the venture capital business, Bill spent four years on Wall Street as a top-ranked research analyst, including three years at CS First Boston.
