Ben Renick was shot to death on his reptile farm near New Florence in June 2017. Although Police initially thought one of his pythons was responsible for his killing, witnesses came forward with criticizing information about his wife, Lynlee Renick.
Prosecutors in Lynlee’s 2021 murder trial told the jury that she killed her husband for his $1 million life insurance policy to save her spa business and flee a crumbling marriage.
Renick enlisted her ex-boyfriend Michael Humphrey to join the murder plan, and it is reported that he was the one who pulled the trigger. So, Renrick was convicted of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Reportedly, Lynlee was sentenced to 16 years in jail in January 2022. So, we can say that she is now serving her time at the Chillicothe Correctional Center for women in Livingston County, Missouri.
