Anthony Brown

Anthony Brown

Dive deep into Anthony Brown with our latest coverage.

Standing around 6’7 with a wingspan of 6’9.5 and a wiry 224-pound frame, Brown is the ideal size for an NBA wing.

He is a smooth and fluid athlete who is not exceptionally explosive because none of his physical skills are particularly spectacular.

His best attribute is his open-court speed, which he can use to finish with either hand frequently and go to the rim with long, graceful jumps at top speeds. He transitions effectively as well.

The shooting guard/small forward was capable of guarding any position on the wing, and on occasion, he even covered point guards. He has strong wing ball pressure, quick lateral movement to keep his man under control, good length to block long-range shots, and a great basketball IQ. Weakness

Given his physical attributes, the NBA defensive standout still needs to improve his game in order to reach his full potential. Brown is a good defensive player, which helped him get into the league.

However, Brown wasn’t always dependable defensively either since his lack of toughness and strength could be used against him and because he occasionally had a propensity to get pushed around.

He will need to focus on improving his defensive toughness and attentiveness on that side of the court. He may drop his guard when defending the ball. Off the ball, he can lose his bearings and overlook a rotation.

Family

Although Anthony LeJohn Brown was really born on October 10, 1992, in Bellflower, California, to Quentin and Raquel Brown, he was reared in Fountain Valley.

His father, Quentin Brown, introduced him to the sport at a young age. Senior Brown was named the 1977 Central Valley CIF Player of the Year. He participated as a player at UC Irvine from 1977 to 1981.

Quentin was a coach at Los Alamitos before accepting the role of principal at Renaissance High School for the Arts in Long Beach, California.

His mother, Raquel, has been a diehard Lakers fan since the 1980s. She graduated from the business schools at USC and UCLA.

Coach Jim Harris had a big influence on Anthony Brown. He tragically passed away in the middle of Brown’s second year at Stanford, and Anthony had an homage to his former coach written on his shoes. You may also like to read about: Troy Brown Jr..
