Anna Ray is the 74-year-old widow of James Earl Ray, the killer of Martin Luther King Jr. James Earl Ray and Anna Sindhu Ray were married on October 13, 1978.
Anna Ray was arrested in 1996 when authorities and raiding teams uncovered 25 living animals and a few dead animals in her Knoxville home, per WBBJ.
The present raid served as a comparable health check for the miserable creatures she kept as pets but did not treat as such. She stated that she loved them all and that they slept in her bedroom at night despite being incarcerated.
She added that her bedroom was adjacent to the filthy area where the dogs resided. There was a considerable amount of trash, as well as human and animal waste, which rendered the region inhabitable.
The sick animals were rushed to ARC for quick medical care, where they were evaluated for major/minor injuries, worm infestation, parasites, and even ticks.
