Amari Burney’s journey to the NFL began during his time playing football for the University of Florida’s Florida Gators during his collegiate career. Having played wide receiver and safety in high school, he moved to linebacker during his time at the institution.
At occasions like the Senior Bowl, Burney’s capabilities were clearly visible, giving him an opportunity to immediately demonstrate his ability to NFL scouts. In addition, the NFL Scouting Combine was an important way for collegiate players to confirm that they were prepared for the professional ranks.
