Harry Connick Jr. composed the soundtrack for the 1989 romantic comedy. Harry’s musical career took off once he met Sally. In the United States, the soundtrack went double platinum, earning him his first Grammy Award for Best Jazz Male Vocal Performance. Lofty’s Roach Souffle and We Are in Love were Harry’s two albums released in 1990.
He won his second Grammy for Best Jazz Male Vocal for the latter, which went double platinum. When My Heart Finds Christmas was released in 1993, it was the best-selling Christmas CD in the United States. Harry made his feature film debut in Memphis Belle in 1990, followed by Little Man Tale the next year.
