Born and reared in Dover, New Hampshire, Chip Kelly. He graduated from Manchester Central High School and from New Hampshire University with a Bachelor of Science in physical education in 1990.
At Manchester Central, he played defense, and at New Hampshire University, he played offense. In addition to football, he also played basketball and ice hockey in high school.
On 1990, Kelly started working as a secondary coach for the freshman team at Columbia University. In 1992, he started working at New Hampshire University as a running backs coach. In 1993, he started working at Johns Hopkins University as a defensive coordinator.
From 1994 to 1996, he spent the following three seasons coaching running backs at his alma university. From 1997 to 1998, he was the offensive line’s coach.
Boston’s Greater Gridiron Club After the 2005 season, Kelly received the “College Assistant Coach of the Year” award. He is one of the hottest college football coaches, according to US Football Monthly.
