Abdul Imoyo, the media manager at Access Bank Group, dies in Lagos.

Abdul Imoyo, who gained notoriety in the corporate communications field for his skillful management of client questions and Access Bank Group infomercials, has departed from this life.

Following a short stay for treatment at First Cardiology Hospital in Lagos, Mr. Imoyo died suddenly on Sunday, according to a family statement received by Peoples Gazette. His children and wife survived him.

“It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, who went to be with the Lord in the early hours of December 17, 2023,” his brother Tunde Imoyo said in a statement.

The bank has not published a comment as of Sunday night. Still, The Gazette was reliably told that Mr. Imoyo had died, and his colleagues were very sorry for his loss.

Before joining Access Bank in 2014, Mr. Imoyo worked closely with Herbert Wigwe, the bank’s top executive, as a newspaper editor in Lagos, according to his online biography.

He oversaw corporate communications for the frontline financial services division.

Because of his ability to immediately answer media queries and his proficiency in developing commercial connections with different media sectors, Mr. Imoyo was well-regarded by media professionals.
