Curtis James Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, was born under the sign of Cancer in South Jamaica, Queens, New York. In terms of nationality, he is an American, and in terms of ethnicity, he is African-American. He was born in Queens, New York City, to a drug dealing mother, Sabrina Jackson. His mother died in a weird fire when he was only eight years old. As a result, his father abandoned him in his grandmother’s shade.
He used to deal narcotics when he was younger, and he would frequently bring firearms and drugs to school. Fortunately, authorities found young 50 Cent with cocaine, heroin, and other substances, and his career as a drug dealer came to an end.
Following these events, he acquired the moniker 50 Cent as a metaphor for change. According to him, the name was inspired by Kelvin Martin, a thief from Brooklyn.
